When the Dental Association reached out, their Melbourne office looked neat and professional. But it didn’t feel welcoming. Like many medical environments, it had tiled floors, glass corridors, and a neutral palette. While modern, it felt cold and echoey. Patients were walking into a space that felt more clinical than calming.
Live greenery was not an option. Their busy schedules and lack of maintenance support made it impossible. They wanted the visual softness of plants, without the hassle. That’s where artificial plants became the clear solution.
The Problem
The main issue wasn’t the blank walls or lack of colour, it was how the space made people feel. It looked clean, but it didn’t feel calm. The environment added tension to patients instead of easing it.
The boardroom, corridors, and waiting areas felt empty. Glass dividers and hard surfaces bounced sound, making things feel echoey and uninviting. Even a wall-mounted TV, which was not in use, drew attention for the wrong reasons.
The team needed a solution that could:
-
-
- Soften the space without taking up floor space
- Work with their existing modern layout
- Stay vibrant with zero maintenance
- Look great immediately – no waiting for plants to grow or fill in
-
During the Process
Right from the first chat, the client was clear. They wanted to upgrade the space while keeping their daily routine easy.
We toured the office, took note of problem areas, and talked through their goals. Natural light mattered a lot, so we had to keep the current architecture as it is.
Our team suggested a blend of vertical gardens, tall fake trees, and small green features. The idea was to complement the space, not overpower it.
Here’s what we proposed:
-
-
- Wild Tropics Vertical Garden Panels to bring the long glass corridors to life
- UV-Resistant Phoenix Palm Trees in open zones and corners
- Artificial Banana Trees to fill large, unused spaces
- Fittonia Hanging Garlands above upper cabinetry to soften sharp edges
- Timber planter boxes along the glass walkway, filled with Artificial Monstera, Premier Boston Ferns, and Aloe Vera Bushes
-
The Solution
We started with an on-site visit. We measured the space and talked about the client’s goals. One goal was to cover an unused wall-mounted TV.
On install day, our team focused on completing the transformation within a single day. We set up Wild Tropics Vertical Garden Panels along the glass corridors and over the TV area. This choice added depth and greenery without altering the layout.
Phoenix Palms and Banana Trees were positioned in important transition spots. They sit in sleek black pots filled with white stones. Fittonia Garlands were added above cabinets to soften flat surfaces.
In the main corridor, timber planter boxes held Monstera, ferns, and Aloe Vera. This setup added a lush visual divide while keeping the area bright and open. It made a striking impression without needing any maintenance.
After the Process
The change was noticeable straight away.
What once felt cold and echoey now had structure, warmth, and life. Patients experienced soft textures and lush greenery, not harsh lines or sterile surfaces. Staff pointed out that the space felt quieter and more relaxed, which was an unexpected but nice perk.
Even the old, unused TV wall was reborn as a feature wall with the Wild Tropics Vertical Panels. The boardroom felt more grounded. And the long, plain corridors now had colour, depth, and flow.
Best of all? No need to water, trim, or worry about fading – just lovely greenery that looks great all year long.
The client provided an accurate summary: “Looks fantastic—exactly what we needed.”
